Client Profile: Making a Magnolia House Feel Like Home

By September 29, 2015Client Project, Uncategorized

This client had been living in her house for a couple years. She wanted it to feel more like home, and to be a place where she wanted to spend more time. It was a blank slate, which made it a bit overwhelming for her to begin, but a fun challenge for me! Together, we tackled her living room, dining room and bedroom.

Check out the before & after photos below!

Living Room

Before I meet with a new client, I ask them to find photos of spaces they love or are inspired by. This particular client loved a living room with a brick wall in it, but she doesn’t have a brick wall in her home.  It did give me an idea, though!  A great option to add texture and warmth to a wall is with stikwood!  I LOVE this product.  It’s 100% real wood, with built-in adhesive so you can peel and stick it onto the wall. There are so many possibilities with this product.  In this living room, the blank wall becomes a statement piece.

What’s new: stikwood wall, paint, FLOR rug, window treatments, lighting & coffee table

Dining Room

The living and dining rooms are adjacent, so we went with a complementary color scheme. The new wall color is a nod to the great rug in the living room. And how cool is the new light fixture? It has a hint of blue, as well!

Bedroom

The bedroom got a facelift with a great new color scheme, a neutral, yet chic, new rug, an some great storage pieces.

While we were able to tackle these three rooms at once, you certainly don’t have to.  A can of paint can certainly transform a room, as can a new rug or statement piece.  Try adding or changing one thing, and see what a difference it makes!
